This week was amazing! We went from having no progressing investigators to having 6 progressing. Four of them came to church; Angel, Tomasa, Felipe and Elisia. Three of them have committed to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized the 25th of October (Angel and Tomasa), and Elisia will be baptized the first of November.
On Monday we got a call from a member, Hermana Soriano, saying that she had 2 new people for us to teach! She just rented out a room to a Joyce and Elisia and she invited them to hear about the gospel and they said yes. We went to their house and taught the restoration and they accepted a Book of Mormon then we invited them to a baptism on Saturday. Only Elisia was able to go and she loved it! After the baptism she told us that she wanted to be closer to Jesus and that she wanted to be baptized. A couple of hours after the baptism we went to their house to teach them. We decided to watch the Restoration movie and we were going to teach the Plan of Salvation, but we felt we should teach that instead. After the movie Elisia was crying she felt the spirit and recognized it. She expressed how much she wanted to be baptized, she was anxious to share her experience at the baptism with her mom. Elisia went to church as well. She really liked it too!
Angel and Tomasa have a date. Tomasa was baptized before but her record was lost, so she needs to be baptized again. She didn't want to be baptized again but the spirit finally convinced her so her son and her will be getting baptized!
We had temple shift this week. While we were sitting outside there was a little boy named Mosiah, from mexico, trying to pick these berries that are on the trees. He was nine years old so he couldn't reach, we tried helping him out but I'm really sure I wasn't much of a help. So I decided that I could try and throw something. I Decided to throw a bag full of pass along cards. Bad idea, it got stuck! Haha Mosiah tried throwing an apple, it was pretty funny.
I finished the Book of Mormon in Spanish today! I started at the beginning of my mission. Some say that is pretty long but it doesn't matter how long it takes you to read, it matters what you learned. Here's what i learned: I learned about our divine potential, to become gods and goddesses we must submit to God's will, put off the natural man and become as children through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We won't be able to comprehend everything but we can trust that the Lord and Heavenly Father loves us and knowledge will come through our obedience. As we obey his commandments we will find true and eternal happiness. I know it.
