Meet the Mormons!

This past week we had Zone Conference. It was great! We got to see the movie, "Meet the Mormons", which comes out in theaters in October. Basically it spotlights 6 people from different parts of the world in their daily lives. It is great and inspirational! I don't know where they will be showing it but if it's around you watch it! I know that after it comes out it will be on Netflix and YouTube and the visitor centers.
My favorite spotlight was "The candy bomber". Basically after WWII, Gail Halvorsen, a young pilot in the US Army Air Corps was assigned as a cargo pilot to the Berlin Airlift in which US forces flew much-needed supplies into a Soviet-blockaded Berlin. On his missions, he dropped candy to children and became known as the Candy Bomber. It really taught me that small little acts of kindness can go a long way.
I love Zone Conference because our Mission President teaches us. President Schmitt helped us to understand the purpose of our calling. We are to help others come unto Christ. Others, meaning members, less active members and non members. We are representatives of Christ, of the church, and of our families. He counseled us to "fear no man". We must be bold, we must talk to everyone and invite them to use the Atonement of Christ and make the essential promises with God to receive exaltation.
General Womens conference was awesome too! Since we were on shift at the Mormon Battalion we didn't get to see it live but watched it the next day. There were some technical difficulties with the projector here so we ended up watching it on an I-pad. It was great! I loved the focus that each speaker had on the temple. We are so blessed to have so many temples today. I really loved when they said "As temples are prepared for us, we must prepare to go in". No matter how long you've been a member preparation to go into the temple is vital. As we prepare to receive revelation in the temple, we will be more receptive to the answers. I love to see the Temple and I am grateful that I get to serve the Lord and others.
