Ring Out the Old, Ring In the New.

Happy New years Everyone! 2015! It blows my mind that another year has gone buy. It went by so quickly! But by far this has been the best year of and for my life! I've learned more about the doctrine of Christ, I have been able to see so many people change and become more like him. I've been able to meet so many wonderful people at the Mormon Battalion Historic Site, I am learning what it means to study and apply the scriptures, I've learned to recognize the promptings of the spirit, but most importantly I've learned how to access the Atonement of Jesus Christ, both the redeeming and enabling power of the Atonement. Something else that I have learned that I know will help me so much in the future is setting Goals! Since it's a new year, it's a prefect time to set some, but of course it's not the only time we can. We should be setting goals daily! I know it's easier said than done! Here are a couple of tips on how to. There are good goals, but we want SMART goals! Here's an acronym:
S- specific -be sure to make a specific goal so that you can have a specific result
M-Measurable- make sure it is something that you can improve on, and you can measure the progress you are making, of note the difference in yourself
A- Attainable- You have to be able to accomplish it, if not you are setting yourself up for failure
R- realistic- no matter how hard you try creating a time machine isn't the most realistic goal
T-Time bound- you don't want to make a goal that you can only accomplish 20 years from now. You live in the present not in the future, do something now to be better!
Goals motivate us! My dad once told me that if I dont have a dream or a goal then I won't have any  motivation. He told me he was happy with any dream I had, as long as I had one. I've really been able to apply it on my mission, if I don't set goals then I am not committed to my calling as a missionary. Make SMART goals!

Elder M. Russel Ballard said:

“I am so thoroughly convinced that if we don’t set goals in our life and learn how to master the techniques of living to reach our goals, we can reach a ripe old age and look back on our life only to see that we reached but a small part of our full potential. When one learns to master the principles of setting a goal, he will then be able to make a great difference in the results he attains in this life.”
I couldn't have said it any better!
We had an awesome experience earlier in the week! We have been receiving some awesome miracle referrals. We received information for this man named Javier a while back, we tried to contact him, but he wasn't home, so we tried again on Wednesday. He was home and so was his whole family. We testified of Eternal Families and had a great lesson on becoming more like Jesus Christ. We added them to our teaching pool! The Lord knows the best timing for everything!
Hope you have a great year! Set SMART goals!
